Product Description

Evenheat’s Studio Pro models feature our Dual Access Design. The Dual Access Design combines traditional front and top loading features into one, truly revolutionary kiln design. The Studio Pro Series gives you the advantages of both front and top access in a single, dual hinged design that's smooth and precise.

With a wide range of sizes, these are perfect for private studios and are capable of slumping, draping, fusing and painting.

The Studio Pro series is available in a variety of control choice options including the ever-popular TAP Smart Controller as well as the solid state output option which will extend the life of your kiln!

The Studio Pro STP is our smallest Studio Pro design. It's perfect for one-off projects, jewelry and creating design elements to be used in larger designs. Don't be fooled by its small size, glass studio's large and small find the Studio Pro STP to be a vital and essential tool.

The Studio Pro STP is made with both fiber and firebrick. Fiber for speed and firebrick for its excellent heat-storage and annealing properties. The best of both worlds combined for a true performer.

The Studio Pro STP operates from a friendly 120V and is available with the Icon control.

Features

  • Designed to use on standard household voltage and current

  • Front access is perfect for glass placement: simply build directly on your shelf and close the chamber. Front access is also great when using tools that require a horizontal approach such as raking, roll ups and manipulation techniques.

  • Top access is excellent for the loading of shelves and forms as it allows for easy and precise placement. Top access is also preferred for many vertical-approach manipulation techniques such as embossing.

  • The Studio Pro STP is equipped with the Icon Control. It adds to an existing control platform with improvements like Special Limits thermocouples for precise temperature sensing and non-metallic faceplates for excellent Wi-Fi reception for mobile Apps.

  • Lid venting is great when you're firing off adhesives or binders. It's also great for speeding up the cooling process. Lid venting is great when you're firing off adhesives or binders. It's also great for speeding up the cooling process.

  • The power cable on the Studio Pro STP exits the control panel to the rear. This keeps it away from the kiln chamber while keeping your work area free of clutter.

Furniture Kit

Furniture Kits are necessary accessories for any kiln owner as firing directly on the kiln floor is not only bad for the kiln, but your pieces as well. In addition to this, they're also useful! A furniture kit will allow you to stack multiple shelves on top of one another in order to maximize the useable space when firing smaller pieces.

If you have one that will fit this kiln size already, then you're in luck! But if not, you'll want to ensure you add this to your order as well.

Furniture Kit

Furniture Kit includes:

  • Two (2) 7.25" x 7.25" Shelves
  • One (1) Haik Brush
  • One (1) 24oz. Glass Separator

Kiln furniture can be special ordered separately, but if done so the cost is ~10-20% higher and will incur a separate shipping charge. It's best to include this on your initial order of the kiln.

* Received shelves may contain surface imperfections such as scratches, discoloration or rough edge. These possible imperfections are understood and accepted by the buyer.

Viewing Window

The optional viewing window is one of our favorite additions on a kiln. We find that this is one of those small overlooked features that packs a great return.

Not only are you able to easily see how your pieces are progressing and ensure things are going as you had planned, but it's also just plain fun to watch! Add a little extra joy in the process and brighten your day on each and every firing.

Instruction manual

We are new to using a glass fusing kiln and have several good books for training. We purchased an Evenheat Pro STP and test fired it successfully. We also needed an instruction manual for the controls, which Soul Ceramics quickly provided. We look forward to using our new kiln for glass fusing and dichroic.

First Kiln

I received my kiln a couple of weeks before I expected. Looks to be in perfect condition. Set up was easy. I have run a test, fire but have not fused any glass yet. Hoping to do that later today. The Soul Ceramics team has been very helpful in answering any questions that I’ve had. Thank you.

Nema 5-20 plug

Haven’t been able to use it yet. Had to figure out the plug and receptacle. I guess I should of paid closer attention to the advertisement page. It said 120v and 20 amps. That’s what I had ready for it, didn’t know the plug was different. Not sure why the plug is different.

Fantastic Company!

We love our new kiln that we ordered from Soul Ceramics! They were quick to answer all our questions so that we could choose the kiln that worked best for us. After we placed our order we received weekly check ins from them on the progress of our order. Everything was so well communicated from the beginning of ordering to the delivery of this large kiln! I can't wait to use the kiln more and make larger fused glass pieces. Thank you Soul Ceramics for all your assistance!

Evenheat kiln purchase

The order process, communication and followup on my order was excellent. The kiln manufacturer was quoting a multi-month wait before my order could be built and shipped. That was clearly stated on the website, so there were no surprises. Throughout the process Soul Ceramics kept in regular contact with me and kept me updated. The kiln actually shipped sooner than I anticipated and arrived in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend Soul Ceramics to anyone.

Not the best experience...

I’d like to describe my entire experience—from the purchase to setting it up—so that others understand the process. The reviews on Soul Ceramics website are all about the product and super positive with no real helpful details or feedback.

PURCHASING
I want to start out by saying that when I placed the order, my estimated time was 10-12 weeks. As time went on, the estimate increased. While I realize there were reasons for this, this is still my experience. By the time all was said and done, it was 18.5 weeks. They did, however, zap me for the money right away. That felt a bit awkward. While Soul Ceramics was very kind and communicative (always), the experience as a whole was just so-so for the purchase of a $2,000 item.

DELIVERY
The arrival of the shipment was stressful. I received an email from Soul Ceramics that the kiln was shipping. Exciting! What wasn’t exciting were these two instructions: 1. The delivery service is not allowed to drop the kiln off close to your house, just by the street. 2. Before you sign off on the delivery, you have to open the box and make sure the kiln isn’t damaged. Luckily, the delivery driver wheeled the kiln on its pallet into my garage. He would not wait for me to inspect, though. So I wrote that where I signed my name.

SET UP
Thank you to the delivery man, because I couldn’t even get the kiln into my workshop. I had to commandeer a strong man to help. So the kiln didn’t come with a manual and the online manual doesn’t feel super clear and organized well. (As a writer who has written manuals, I believe I have a bit of street cred here.)

EVENHEAT CONTACT
I called Evenheat for two reasons: to find out if there is a vent, like the 14” model and to find out what I can do about some of the large holes in my kiln bricks. Apparently, there is only one guy that works at Evenheat that can answer questions, so I had to wait until he came back from vacation? After 18.5 weeks, what’s more time?

The man at Evenheat was nice enough, but told me there’s no vent (while there is on the smaller, cheaper versions). He suggested propping open the lid, but if I do that, the kiln might not heat up? He tried to explain the mechanism in the back to me, but I don’t know if I feel comfortable trying to toy with it like that for fear I might break something. Apparently, venting is good for allowing fumes to escape—fumes that may ruin the heating elements.

About the holes in the brick. The biggest one isn’t inside the kiln, but is so big it’s crumbling and feels like it might jeopardize the integrity of the brick. There is also a crack in one of the internal bricks. When I told him about this, he told me I could buy some repair stuff from their website to fill it. Really? I have to buy the stuff and fix it? I found that a little bit in bad taste, to be honest. Send me the stuff. I just spent over 2k and waited 18+ weeks.

THE KILN ITSELF
I’m just learning and have only run it twice, so I don’t think I’m qualified to review it in any technical way. I guess we’ll see! I’m hoping it’s worth this experience so far.

Evenheat Pro 17 has arrived!

I have not been able to use my new kiln yet-it appears that the plug will not fit the receptacle and I will need to get the electrician in to wire an appropriate connection. Will advise further when I can actually use it!

I love my kiln. This is my first and probably only kiln i will purchase. I am very happy with the Evenheat considering my kiln knowledge was limited. I feel i got lucky choosing the Evenheat.
