Evenheat 2020 Knife Oven Changes

"Hey - Where have all the Evenheat KF knife ovens gone?"

Don't worry! You can still find the same amazing quality heat treating ovens by Evenheat - read on to find out the details.

As of January 1st, 2020 Evenheat has made the decision to discontinue their KF Series of knife heat treating ovens to be replaced entirely with the LB series. The LB Series has now been around for about 1 year to date and at some point the two lines became redundant.

The KF and LB kilns share an almost identical design offering: The side opening door, the cool touch handles, door shield, 2200F maximum temperature, swing view controls on the Rampmaster and TAP Smart controls, and the handy tool rest on the side. The only difference between the models being the element placement - The LB series was designed for knife makers and has only side elements for the most even heat distribution.

The side element only design of the LB has proven itself in testing and the market - many reports from the field indicate the LB is superior to the KF - and that's saying something, as the KF series is remarkable and a market favorite! We're excited for these new changes!

For each previous KF model - there is a matching LB model that will fit your needs exquisitely:

While discontinuing the KF heat treating ovens, Evenheat has decided to begin offering the LB ovens with a base model of the Set-Pro controller and a mechanical relay. This allows for a more basic and economical model for those who are on a tighter budget, while still offering the Rampmaster controller, TAP Smart controller, and Quiet Drive Solid State relays as upgradeable add-ons for those who really want the best product possible.

Further information on the controllers and relays can be found on all product pages, or check-out our Kiln Controller Types article in the Knowledge Center!

And of course, we'll still have those extra nifty options available such as the loud alarm and the power interrupt switch for those looking for the additional functionality.

But what about the Evenheat KF 13.5, you ask? Over the years, Evenheat has noticed that the 13.5" depth models have had very minimal sales - most users reaching for the 18" depth at a minimum to have more options in their blade creations. For that reason, both the Evenheat KF 13.5 and the Evenheat KO 13.5 have been removed from the line.

Along with these changes - we also have an exciting addition to the KO Series - The Evenheat KO 27! This oven is long overdue as many users have been asking for a 27" model of the KO line - and finally, it has arrived!

That's it for the 2020 changes to Evenheat's knife ovens - We're confident you'll be extremely satisfied with the LB series as it's complete replacement.
